Motorbike tours of Normandy could be the ideal option for adventurous travellers looking for a new and exciting experience, according to
P&O Ferries.
Writing in her blog for the company, Rosie Khdir reveals that Normandie Motorcyclisme, an association of classic motorcycle enthusiasts, restores old bikes and rents them out to tourists.
Ms Khdir recommends motorbike tours of the scenic region for people who "want a bit of an adrenaline rush with your pretty views and tasty French delicacies".
Holidaymakers can begin their journey by crossing with
P&O Ferries on the
Dover to Calais ferry route, which is also served by
SeaFrance.
Once they get to Normandy, visitors can choose the bike that is right for them with the help of association members, who can also recommend some itineraries.
Ms Khdir encouraged visitors to the region to stop at inns and hotels to sample some "gastronomic delights" and take the opportunity to try local Calvados, cider and beers, which she describes as "the perfect refreshment after a day on the road".
Normandy is also accessible with
Brittany Ferries, which operates
ferries from Portsmouth to St Malo, Caen and Cherbourg, while LD Lines provides
ferries from Portsmouth to Le Havre.
