P&O Ferries will provide an unforgettable experience for five young athletes next month when it arranges for them to meet double Olympic sailing champion Sarah Webb.
Along with her team-mates Shirley Robertson and Sarah Ayton, Webb won the gold medal in the Yngling class at the 2004 Olympics and went on to triumph again in Beijing in 2008.
Earlier this year, she was given an OBE in the Queen's Honours List.
She will visit P&O Ferries on April 1st to meet young athletes sponsored by the ferry operator who have Olympic and Paralympic dreams of their own, including 18-year-old sailor Chloe Martin and 15-year-old table tennis player Lewis Gray.
Simon Johnson, sales and marketing director for P&O Ferries, said: "Sarah will hand over our 2009 sponsorship cheques of £3,000 each, plus some snappy new sports kit.
"But she'll also give our young sports stars something that is absolutely priceless. She is able to offer a very serious insight into how she reached the top in emphatic style and stayed there."
Alongside its regular
ferries from Dover to Calais, P&O Ferries operates routes linking Liverpool to Dublin and Portsmouth to Bilbao.
