P&O Ferries picked up another major accolade at the weekend, being voted the world's leading ferry operator at the grand final of the World Travel Awards in London on November 8th.
The success came just four days after the firm was named the ferry company of the year and the leading provider of short sea and cross channel ferry services at the British Travel Awards.
Holidaymakers can reach the continent by taking ferries to Calais from Dover with P&O Ferries or travelling on its Hull to Rotterdam ferry route.
The operator also provides access to Ireland via a Liverpool to Dublin ferry link.
London's Grosvenor House was the venue for the final of the 2009 World Travel Awards, which provided the conclusion to a regional tour that included events in Dubai, South Africa, Mexico and Portugal.
The leading destination award went to London, while Eurostar was voted the world's best rail service.
Commenting on this year's winners, World Travel Awards president and founder Graham Cooke said: "They have remained focused on their long-term objectives and continued to deliver above and beyond the call of duty, setting an industry example."
