P&O Ferries was among the winners at the recent Coach Tourism Awards, an event that is based on votes cast by travel industry professionals.
The operator was recognised with the title of 'cross sea carrier of the year' at the ceremony in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Its
Dover to Calais ferry services contributed to the company's success at the awards event, along with its
ferries from Portsmouth to Bilbao and from Hull to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge.
P&O Ferries' head of tourist sales Mark Atherton, who collected the accolade, said: "It's always an honour to be recognised in this way by fellow trade professionals.
"We're delighted to have picked up the award and to celebrate another successful year within the coach and group market."
The company will make major improvements to its Dover to Calais ferry crossings next year with the introduction of two new vessels, which will be the largest ever to operate on the route.
Spirit of Britain will enter service in January, followed by Spirit of France in September.
