P&O Ferries is increasing its freight capacity on its North Sea and Irish Sea services from early July to meet growing demand.
The ro-ro/containership Global Carrier is replacing the Triumph on the North Sea, sailing between Hull, Europoort and Zeebrugge.
With a length of 152 metres, Global Carrier has a total capacity of 1,700 lane metres, which P&O said was a significant increase over the Triumph.
The Triumph would be retained to join the Liverpool Dublin service, the operator said, and would sail in addition to the Norbank and Norbay on the route.
