Taking advantage of
ferries to France provides access to a beautiful country - and one of the most iconic cities in Europe in Paris.
Iconic cities are proving ever popular among tourists, according to travel writer and presenter on the Alan Titchmarsh show, Sarah Woods.
She claims Paris has "retained its appeal" with a broad base of people because of its perception as a romantic city.
"We're familiar with all the images and landmarks and if we haven't been to the Eiffel Tower, we feel that we have got an affinity with it," Ms Woods noted. "[Paris] has captured our hearts and imaginations with its landmark attractions."
Motorists taking ferries to France will find some of the nicest places to stay on the outskirts of Paris, according to Ms Woods, who points out that greater numbers of newer properties are appearing on the outskirts of the city itself, which has limited space in the middle.
