Fans of comics and graphic novels should make sure they pay a visit to Brussels during Belgium ferry breaks this year.
The Belgian Comic Strip Center is currently hosting an exhibition entitled Comics
Twenty Years Later, which looks at how the medium has grown and evolved over the past two decades.
Arranged to celebrate the centre's 20th anniversary, the display will run until March 28th.
Those interested in seeing it can take ferries to Zeebrugge from Rosyth with
Norfolkline or from Hull with P&O Ferries and drive south-east to visit the Belgian capital.
The exhibition brings together 21 examples of outstanding comic strip art from every year between 1989 and 2009, which were chosen by photographer and fan Daniel Couvreur.
Each work was selected to highlight the development of the art form at that point in time.
A number of genres are represented in the showcase, from old-fashioned adventure to philosophical fable.
Travellers planning to visit Belgium this year can also use the Ramsgate to Ostend ferry route, which is served by
TransEuropa Ferries.
