Ride it out in Amsterdam | | | | 28 October 2008 | Holidaymakers looking for cheap ferries to the continent may be interested in Amsterdam's annual horse show next January.
Jumping Amsterdam, an annual event, is set to include high-level dressage and jumping competitions plus other entertainment, according to What's On When.
Horse fans can see three competitions make up the dressage event, with the winners of each competing against each other, or four days of jumping competitions.
Children can take part in an afternoon of pony rides while a market will provide plenty of shopping opportunities.
The Shetland Pony Grand National Team and driving races also feature in the event's schedule.
Visitors can see the show, hosted by Amsterdam RAI, from January 22nd to 25th. A trip to the Netherlands' capital could also include The Heineken Experience, which will reopen next month following an expansion and remodelling.
A trip to the attraction may appeal to equestrian fans as much as beer lovers, as a new "stable walk" offers access to the Heineken shire horses' working stable.
