The Rosyth to Zeebrugge ferry service being launched by Norfolkline in May has reportedly seen a positive response, with half of the available bookings for the month already sold.
It was announced that, as a result of the high demand, reclining seats will be offered as an accommodation option for people travelling in cars and other vehicles if they are available.
Reclining seats are already an option for foot passengers planning to travel on the new ferry crossings.
Bas van Helden, director of the Rosyth to Zeebrugge ferry route, said: "The response from the Scottish market to this launch has been extremely positive and we are listening to what people are telling us they want from the service.
"Our priority is to put in place a business plan that is sustainable for the long term, but we are constantly evaluating and, where it is viable, introducing new offers and products in response to demand."
Scottish Viking, the vessel that will provide the new service, is currently under construction in Italy and will operate the first sailing from Rosyth to Zeebrugge on May 18th, with the return crossing scheduled for the following day.
Norfolkline also offers
ferries from Liverpool to Dublin and from Dover to Dunkerque.
