The rush has begun for tickets to next weekend's Rugby World Cup final in France , with fans clamouring to cross the Channel by plane, train and automobile.
Within an hour of England's victory last night, 5,000 people had logged onto Eurostar's website to search for tickets.
Eurostar's online ticket sales were five times greater than normal after the game and three times more than expected this morning.
A spokesman said: "We advise people to move very quickly and buy tickets because they are selling as each minute goes by."
Fans are also trying to get across the channel by sea and air.
A spokesman for
Brittany Ferries said: "We carried extra passengers this week because of the rugby tournament and I'd imagine next week is also going to be just as busy.
And British Airways have welcomed increased demand for their Paris service.
"It's a busy time, it's a busy sporting event so demand is going to be high," a spokesman said.
