With Valentine's Day swiftly approaching, there are few better destinations for a romantic break than France, according to
Brittany Ferries.
Couples looking for a romantic getaway were informed of the options available with
Brittany Ferries, starting with a trip from Portsmouth to St Malo on the company's flagship, the Pont Aven.
Setting off from the English port on a Friday evening, passengers will arrive in northern France the next morning in time for breakfast in historic St Malo.
Visitors can then spend their day exploring the picturesque fishing village of Cancale, which is a 30-minute drive along the coast, or head to Mont Saint Michel, one of France's iconic tourist attractions.
Brittany Ferries also sails from Plymouth to the port of Roscoff in northern France and in March this year will launch a new ferry service linking Portsmouth to Santander in Spain.
Another major provider of cross channel ferries is LD Lines, which currently sails from Portsmouth to Le Havre and will begin offering crossings from Dover to Boulogne and Dieppe this year.
