With summer officially coming to an end, VisitDenmark has highlighted some of the attractions and experiences on offer to families planning a ferry break in the Scandinavian country during the autumn.
DFDS Seaways operates regular sailings from the UK that provide access to the North Jutland region, which is home to famous tourist locations such as the North Sea Oceanarium.
The aquarium reopened earlier this year following a renovation and now features 4.5 million litres of water providing a habitat for more than 3,000 fish, making it the biggest attraction of its kind in Europe.
Families can see the natural spectacles on offer at the site by taking ferries from Harwich to Esbjerg with DFDS Seaways.
Also located in North Jutland is Aalborg Zoo, which is currently attracting visitors who want to see its three new tiger cubs.
Randers Rainforest in East Jutland features a tropical safari with monkeys, iguanas, bats and parrots, while the popular Legoland Billund and Viking Museum are situated further south, meaning they are even easier to reach by ferry.
In addition to its Esbjerg service, DFDS Seaways provides convenient access to mainland Europe with daily
ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam.
