People looking for a memorable holiday this year might be interested in travelling to Denmark with
DFDS Seaways to attend some major events in the country.
VisitDenmark revealed that the North Jutland region is currently preparing to host an "action-packed calendar of events and festivities to suit all tastes and ages of traveller".
Visitors can reach the region by taking ferries from Harwich to Esbjerg with DFDS Seaways, which operate every other day during the summer months.
One of the most high-profile events scheduled over the coming months is the Aalborg Carnival, which will run from May 24th to 29th.
Based on a theme of 'Mars and Venus' this year, the event will feature a colourful parade, live music, dance acts, fireworks in the Kildeparken and much more.
Travellers will also be able to step back in time at the Days of Tordenskiold festival in Frederikshavn, which will bring fencing demonstrations, battle re-enactments and other events to the town from June 25th to 27th.
Aalborg will once again be the centre of attention between July 21st and 24th when it hosts the Tall Ships Races event for the third time.
People planning to visit Europe this year also have the option of taking
ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam with DFDS Seaways.
