Families looking for a memorable holiday experience this year can book a ferry to Denmark with
DFDS Seaways to visit the Oceanarium on the north coast of Jutland.
Located in Hirtshals, the new attraction contains more than 3,000 fish and around 4.5 million litres of water, making it the biggest aquarium in northern Europe.
The aim of the centre is to inform visitors about marine life in and around the North Sea.
Holidaymakers can reach Hirtshals by taking ferries from Harwich to Esbjerg with DFDS Seaways and driving to Denmark's north coast.
Among the highlights of the Oceanarium is its selection of touch pools, where visitors can get close to starfish, crabs and sea urchins, or stroke a thornback ray or giant turbot.
The aquarium is also home to a number of seals that will take part in public feeding sessions every day, as well as an outdoor playground and other attractions.
DFDS Seaways offers an alternative way of getting to Europe with its daily
ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam, while
Stena Line provides
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland.
