People with an interest in international culture can catch
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland this summer as a series of events dedicated to Brazil are held in Rotterdam.
Brazil Contemporary will be held in three Rotterdam institutions - the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Netherlands Architecture Institute and the Netherlands Fotomuseum - from May 30th to August 23rd.
Following on from the success of China Contemporary in 2006, the series will include displays of visual art, architecture, film, photography, design and other fields that represent Brazilian culture.
Highlights will include an exhibition of Brazilian contemporary art at the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen featuring work by Helio Oiticica, Cao Guimaraes and others.
At the Netherlands Architecture Institute, visitors will be introduced to Sao Paulo, one of the world's biggest cities and one of Brazil's most vibrant cultural hotspots.
Travellers can catch morning
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland at 09:00 with
Stena Line or opt for an evening departure from Harwich at 23:45.
Ferries from Hull to Rotterdam are provided by P&O Ferries, while DFDS Seaways operates a Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry service.
