People with an interest in sailing and watersports will be catching
ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne this summer for Cowes Week on the Isle of Wight.
Cowes Week, which begins on August 1st and is free to attend as a spectator, is reportedly the oldest and biggest sailing regatta of its kind.
Family groups on ferry breaks will be able to find plenty of events and entertainment to suit all ages, including boat races, street theatre, live music and a friendly atmosphere that pervades Cowes during the festival.
Visitors who would like to watch the races from the water can board one of the spectator boats, while those who fancy taking control of their own vessel can head to Cowes Sailing School for some lessons.
There might even be an opportunity for holidaymakers to see some famous faces at Cowes Week, with previous festivals being visited by the likes of Ellen MacArthur, Davina McCall and Alan Titchmarsh.
Ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne are provided by Wightlink, which also offers ferry crossings from Portsmouth to Ryde and from Lymington to Yarmouth.
