Isle of Wight ferry breaks will prove a popular option among keen cyclists next month when the island hosts National Bike Week.
Wightlink provides
ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Ryde and from Lymington to Yarmouth, which will offer access to the Isle of Wight when the festival is held from June 13th to 21st.
There are several routes that cyclists can follow throughout the island, including a trail that follows the disused railway from Cowes to Newport and continues to Sandown.
Another popular option is the so-called sunshine trail, a signposted 12-mile route in the Shanklin area that is largely flat but also has an off-road mountain bike section.
Visitors planning to give themselves a real challenge may be interested in taking on the 62-mile journey that covers the entirety of the island and passes by some of its most impressive scenery.
Cyclists will also be catching ferries from Fishbourne to Ryde with Wightlink later this year for the Isle of Wight Cycling Festival, which will be held from September 19th to 27th.
