Isle of Man ferry breaks Isle of Man ferry breaks this year should have no trouble finding a restaurant, pub or cafe where they can enjoy a good meal.
The island's tourism agency announced that the Taste Isle of Man scheme will return for its second year in 2010, following a successful pilot in 2008 and its full introduction last year.
Independent assessments are carried out to determine the quality of food and service on offer at various dining establishments, with those that achieve accreditation given a 'quality assured' sign to display on their premises.
People who fancy sampling some of the island's cuisine can take
ferries to the Isle of Man with the Steam Packet Company, which operates Douglas ferry services from Liverpool and Heysham.
Martyn Quayle, the island's minister for tourism and leisure, said: "Taste Isle of Man is a quality award scheme for eating establishments, developed initially by Taste Lancashire in the UK.
"We recognise the importance of the food and drink industry to the Isle of Man and this is the perfect way to acknowledge establishments who provide a consistently high quality eating experience."
People taking Isle of Man ferry breaks can pick up a directory from the information centre at the island's sea terminal to find out about the quality-assured establishments.
The Steam Packet Company also operates ferries to Belfast and Dublin in Ireland from Douglas.
