People with a passion for good food will have the opportunity to take ferries to France next month to attend a scallop festival in Normandy.
The Coquille Saint Jacques festival is held to celebrate the start of the fishing season and showcase some of the Calvados region's finest produce.
Travellers who have a soft spot for scallops will be able to attend this year's celebration in the town of Grandcamp-Maisy on December 5th and 6th.
Brittany Ferries provides convenient access to Normandy, with regular ferries to Cherbourg from Poole and Portsmouth, as well as a Portsmouth to Caen ferry service.
All sorts of events and activities are arranged during the Coquille Saint Jacques festival, including fairs that provide plenty of opportunities for visitors to try fresh seafood and other cuisine.
There will also be several events taking place in Normandy next year that celebrate the region's food, such as the annual black pudding festival in Mortagne-au-Perche in March.
LD Lines provides access to northern France with its ferries to Le Havre from Portsmouth, while both P&O Ferries and
Seafrance serve the
Dover to Calais ferry route.
