People with a passion for good food might be tempted to take ferries to France over the coming months to visit Normandy as it hosts a series of culinary events.
There will be a number of fairs taking place during the half-term period, including a foie gras market in Le Neuborg on October 24th.
People interested in visiting the market - which is one of four held throughout the year - can take ferries to Le Havre from Portsmouth with
LD Lines or use the Portsmouth to Caen ferry service provided by
Brittany Ferries.
Villers-sur-Mer in Calvados will host the Fete de la Coquille St Jacques on October 24th and 25th, an event that celebrates scallops and features plenty of music, dancing and other entertainment.
Travellers who are still in France on November 1st can visit Conches-en-Ouche in Eure to take part in an event celebrating apples, cider, cheese and other local produce.
The Normandy region can be easily reached by catching ferries to Cherbourg from Poole or Portsmouth with
Brittany Ferries.
People coming from Ireland can use the Rosslare to Cherbourg ferry route served by
LD Lines and
Irish Ferries.
