Wine enthusiasts can treat themselves to a last-minute ferry break on the Isle of Wight this month to attend a festival celebrating the popular tipple.
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway will host its annual Wine Festival on the weekend of September 25th and 26th.
Passengers will be offered free admission to the event, with wine-tasting tickets being made available to purchase on the day.
Wightlink offers regular daily
ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Ryde on the Isle of Wight, providing plenty of convenient travel options for people planning a last-minute getaway.
This year, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway Wine Festival will provide a selection of 23 wines from Italy, which visitors can sample and purchase.
There will also be a range of Italian dishes available in the train operator's refreshment rooms and experts on hand to guide guests through the tasting experience.
Adults pay £9.50 to ride the steam railway, while tickets for children between the ages of five and 15 are priced at £5.
Families heading to the Isle of Wight can also take
ferries from Lymington to Yarmouth with Wightlink or cross from Southsea to Ryde with
Hovertravel.
