Scandlines bidders reduced to three
Scandlines bidders reduced to three, all worth over 1 bln eur
The number of bidders for Danish-German ferry operator, Scandlines AG, has been reduced to three from six and all remaining bids are believed to be worth over 1 bln eur, daily Boersen reported without citing any sources.
Originally there had been more than 20 interested bidders for Scandlines.
One of the remaining bids is, according to the daily, worth well over 1 bln eur and there is speculation that Sweden's Stena AB is behind this bid in cooperation with 3i, Europe's largest bourse listed venture firm.
The two other remaining bidders are thought to be Baltic Ferry Development Group -- a consortium consisting of Deutsche Seereederei, Allianz Capital Partners and Denmark's LD Equity -- and the US fund, Bain Capital.
Scandlines is currently owned by the Danish Ministry of Transport and Deutsche Bahn AG, which hold 50 pct each.
