Dover to Calais ferries operated by
SeaFrance have been disrupted for the fifth consecutive day as the company's staff continues to strike.
All services have been cancelled over the Easter weekend and are not likely to resume until 20:00 BST this evening (Tuesday, April 6th).
The industrial action has been taken as a result of a row over new working practices, which members of the CFDT union claim will affect their pay.
Didier Cappelle of the union was quoted by AFP news agency as saying that the walkout will continue "unless there are negotiations and we are given what we want".
It is thought that the strike will cost SeaFrance upwards of 1 million in lost revenues.
Meanwhile, thousands of passengers have had their travel plans affected over the bank holiday weekend.
Talks to resolve the dispute are continuing and SeaFrance has advised travellers to arrive as their departure port as normal, from where they will be transferred over to services operated by
P&O Ferries.
