French ferry firm beats off strong competition to win.
SeaFrance Dover-
Calais Ferries has just beaten off strong competition to win `Cross Sea Carrier of the Year' at the prestigious Coach Tourism Awards.
Held on 17 May at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, the awards are sponsored by Coach Monthly magazine and attract voting from all over the UK.
At a gala dinner attended by over 300 leading industry names, Patrick Williams accepted the award on behalf of SeaFrance.
Mark Barton, Coach Tourism Editor of Coach Monthly commented: "This was one of the most competitive of all the awards.and attracted some of the heaviest voting. The winner was SeaFrance, who has consistently offered some of the best value fares on the Short Sea Crossing.
Its standard of onboard catering and service is second to none and having invested some £130 million in recent years, it has by far the most modern purpose-built fleet of vessels available."
Other ferry companies shortlisted for the award were Britanny Ferries,
Eurotunnel, P&O and Stena Line. Patrick Williams, SeaFrance General Manager Passenger Sales, commented: "We were thrilled to beat our cross-Channel rivals to win this award.
SeaFrance has indeed made significant investment in its fleet and it is great to see this recognised by the industry."
