Travellers planning to visit Limerick during Ireland ferry breaks this Christmas will be able to attend one of the region's most popular annual events.
The Christmas Racing Festival will take place at Limerick Racecourse in Patrickswell from December 26th to 29th.
People interested in joining in with the sporting fun can reach the town in south-west Ireland by taking ferries to Rosslare, which are available from Fishguard with
Stena Line and from Pembroke with
Irish Ferries.
Visitors will be able to enjoy plenty of entertainment at the Christmas Racing Festival, with seven national hunt races taking place each day from 12:30.
There will also be screens set up at Limerick Racecourse so visitors can watch the races taking place at Leopardstown near Dublin and Kempton Park in Surrey.
Holidaymakers visiting Ireland this Christmas also have the option of taking ferries to Dublin from Holyhead with
Irish Ferries and
Stena Line.
Both P&O Ferries and
Norfolkline Irish Sea serve the Dublin ferry route from Liverpool.
