See Dublin in Bloom at annual gardening festival

See Dublin in Bloom at annual gardening festival
With the Weather Channel predicting wall-to-wall sunshine and hot temperatures for the Diamond Jubilee bank holiday weekend, holidaymakers taking ferries from Liverpool to Dublin are sure to be on the lookout for something to do outside.

The solution could be Dublin's annual Bloom festival, which takes place from May 31st to June 4th 2012 in Phoenix Park.

Every year, as many as 90,000 visitors go along to pick up gardening tips, buy new plants and see some famous faces from the world of horticulture.

There are floral displays, farmers' markets and even entertainment for green-fingered children, who can attend the whole event for free.

Highlights this year include a floral marquee, a display of Victorian kitchen gardens and a scented tunnel built up of scores of hanging baskets.

It could be the ideal day out for all the family, but it could be wise to pack plenty of sun cream, as the mercury could soar as high as 30 degrees C as you look around.
