Music fans planning ferry breaks this summer have the opportunity to incorporate a gig by rock legends U2 into their trip as the band set off on tour to promote their new album.

The Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona will be the first venue on the tour on June 30th, a destination that fans can reach by sailing from Portsmouth to Bilbao in northern Spain with P&O Ferries or travelling from Plymouth to Santander with Brittany Ferries.

People planning cross channel ferry trips will be able to see U2 when they play at the Stade de France in Paris on July 11th or when they visit the Amsterdam Arena on July 20th.

One of the highlights of the tour will surely be the gig at Croke Park in Dublin, the band's home city, on July 24th.

Those lucky enough to get tickets for this show will be able to catch Dublin ferries from Liverpool with Norfolkline or P&O Ferries, or alternatively sail from Holyhead with Irish Ferries or Stena Line.

Tickets for some of the opening shows on the tour will go on sale tomorrow (March 13th) are expected to sell out fast.
