People with a passion for photography will be able to catch ferries to Amsterdam this summer to visit an exhibition that explores a largely unknown side of the city.
The display will be open at the Foam museum from May 14th to August 23rd and will feature the work of four New York photographers - Gus Powell, Carl Wooley, Richard Rothman and Joshua Lutz.
Each artist was commissioned to study one of four particular aspects of Amsterdam - the street, the night, the water or the outskirts.
The showcase, which was arranged to mark the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's discovery of Manhattan, will be based in the De Bazel building in Amsterdam.
It will follow the Foam museum's exhibition of work by the American photographer Richard Avedon, which will close on May 13th.
Travellers can catch direct
ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam with DFDS Seaways. P&O Ferries operates a Hull to Rotterdam ferry service, while Stena Line offers
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland.
