See a top free attraction on a Northern Ireland ferry break

See a top free attraction on a Northern Ireland ferry break
Families planning to take a ferry to Northern Ireland for a break this year might be interested in visiting a free attraction that, according to TripAdvisor, is one of the most popular in the UK.

The online travel community listed the Giant's Causeway as one of the best free tourist sites based on ratings from its members.

One TripAdvisor contributor said that the collection of some 40,000 basalt columns on the Antrim coast offers "breathtaking scenery", adding that they could have spent an entire week in the area.

People interested in seeing the famous attraction can take ferries from Liverpool to Belfast with Norfolkline, while Stena Line operates ferries from Stranraer to Belfast.

Another free attraction recommended by the online travel community is Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh.

From the top of the hill, visitors can enjoy panoramic views that encompass Edinburgh Castle and the city's old and new town areas.

Travellers based in Northern Ireland can reach Scotland with P&O, which offers ferries from Larne to Cairnryan.
