Sports fans will have the opportunity to take ferries to Rotterdam this year to be part of a famous sporting event in the city.
The 2010 Tour de France will start from Zuidplein on the south side of Rotterdam on July 3rd, with the riders initially heading north for a time trial.
On the following day, the competition will get underway in earnest with a 224km ride from the Dutch city to Brussels in Belgium.
People interested in seeing this year's Grand Depart can take ferries to Rotterdam from Hull with
P&O Ferries.
The Tour de France will take riders on a gruelling 3,600km journey including nine flat stages, six mountain sectors and three high-altitude finishes.
French destinations including Reims, Revel, Pau, Bordeaux and Pauillac will play host to the tour before it reaches its climax on the Champs-Elysees in Paris on July 25th.
Alberto Contador of Spain is the reigning Tour de France champion, having won last year's event by a margin of just over four minutes.
People planning a trip to The Netherlands this year also have the option of taking ferries to Amsterdam from Newcastle with

Stena Line offers a Harwich to Hook of Holland ferry service.
