Ski holidays to France remain popular | | | | 28 October 2008 | People are still looking for winter ski holidays in France, a new report has shown.
The annual Snowsport Analysis released by the Ski Club of Great Britain has revealed the independent snow sports market has grown by three per cent in the last year.
While this is compared to a ten per cent increase recorded the previous year, the growth indicates ski breaks remain popular particularly in France which is easily accessible by ferry.
The country is the market leader, making up 43 per cent of the sector.
Chief executive of the Ski Club Caroline Stuart-Taylor said the organisation is "not surprised" by the increase in the market despite rises in the cost of travelling.
"Skiers and boarders seem to be turning to the internet to research and book their holidays and don't seem to be deterred by increased prices," she said.
For those who cannot wait for their ski holidays, the British Ski & Board Show starts this Friday (October 31st) at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. |
