Skiers urged to check insurance | | | | 16 October 2008 | Holidaymakers heading to the slopes on ski holidays in France or any other country have been advised to get good insurance cover.
Moneysupermarket.com has said that those heading on ski holidays must make sure they check the small-print of insurance policies.
Going off-piste, avalanche closure and piste closure were all highlighted by the website as being areas that are often changeable between insurance companies.
Peter Gerrard, head of insurance at moneysupermarket.com, said: "Embarking on a winter sports holiday can be costly, especially when you add on all the necessary extras, but comprehensive cover needn't be expensive.
"Brits that save their hard earned cash for a snow filled adventure must ensure they are adequately insured; it is important to scour the small print before travelling to avoid any nasty surprises on the slopes."
He advised that spending more did not necessarily ensure better cover, so it is advisable to look around for the best deal for particular ski holidays. |
