People taking ferries to Spain this year might notice that their travel budgets stretch further than they expected following price reductions in the country, according to research.
First Rate Exchange Services predicted that many holidaymakers "will be in for a pleasant surprise" when they discover how far their holiday cash goes during trips to eurozone countries.
The company carried out a survey which found that the eurozone will remain the most popular holiday choice for UK consumers this year, with 71 per cent of all people planning an overseas break set to visit the region.
Those planning to visit Spain can take ferries to Santander from Plymouth or Portsmouth with
Brittany Ferries to explore the country's north coast.
Gordon Gourlay, managing director of First Rate Exchange Services, said: "Lower tourist prices across the eurozone are extremely good news for the millions of UK holidaymakers who are set to make a return to traditional holiday destinations such as Spain and Portugal this year."
The Post Office published a report recently which revealed that prices of tourist items have fallen by up to 30 per cent in Spain this year.
People setting off from the UK can also reach the country via
P&O Ferries' Portsmouth to Bilbao ferry route, which will operate until September.
