Ferry passengers have raised almost £14,000 to go towards medical and rescue equipment to be used around the TT motorbike courses on the Isle of Man.
Travellers sailing with the
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company contributed to the Rob Vine Fund through collection buckets onboard the company's ships during the latest TT race period.
Launched in 1997, the fund-raising initiative has generated about £155,000 so far.
Travellers planning
Isle of Man ferry breaks can sail to Douglas from Liverpool, Heysham, Dublin and Belfast.
Mark Woodward, chief executive of the ferry operator, said: "This is such a vital and important cause and each year the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is delighted to show its support for such a worthwhile charity.
"The work they do is vital and without the Rob Vine Fund the island's famous TT and Manx Grand Prix races would not be able to take place."
Holidaymakers can take
ferries to the Isle of Man with the Steam Packet Company to explore the island's scenic walking routes or visit museums and other attractions in Douglas, the capital city.
