The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has offered local schoolchildren an insight into the fascinating world of sea travel.
Fifty youngsters aged four and five from Ballaquayle school in Douglas visited the company's terminal to learn more about its operations.
Passenger services supervisor Richard Hird showed the visitors how bookings are made for
Isle of Man ferry breaks, giving each child a boarding card and leading them through the security area.
The group was then taken on a tour of the Manannan ferry.
Reception teacher Vicky Clucas said it was "fantastic" to be able to give the children a first-hand experience of the stages involved in taking a sea journey.
She added: "The children and staff had a wonderful time with the
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and I would like to thank the company for a very educational day."
Chief executive Mark Woodward said: "Our staff and crew enjoyed showing [the children] around and answering all their questions. It's great the island's youngsters have paid Manannan a visit and were so impressed with both our vessel and staff."
Travellers planning to take
ferries to the Isle of Man with the Steam Packet Company can sail from Liverpool, Heysham, Belfast or Dublin.
