Steam Packet Vessels in Overdrive for IOM TT Festival 2006
One of the busiest periods of the TT festival will see 5 vessels operated by The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company scheduling 'round the clock' sailings as the 2006 TT Races attract racing fans from all over the world.
The weekend between practice week and the actual race week which begins on Saturday 3rd June, is traditionally the period when the Company's vessels are sailing flat out to transport motorcycle fans to the road racing Mecca
with up to 18 sailings daily.
Forward bookings indicate that the Company will bring around 10,000 motor cycles, 5,500 vehicles and 39,000 passengers over the period of the world famous event with their port personnel organising TT information, interpreters and entertainment all adding to the unique TT 'buzz'.
With so many sailings on offer there is always some space available for late bookers and the weather forecast will encourage travel to the event with The Steam Packet sailings from Liverpool, Heysham, Belfast, Larne and Dublin.
