Stena Line has said that it is "delighted" to have raised £15,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and looks forward to contributing more money to the charity this month.
On September 26th, the ferry company will operate the one-off Macmillan Fun Day Cruise on Belfast Lough.
For a charge of £5 per person, passengers will be treated to three hours of activities including face painting, balloon modelling and films for the kids as well as live music and a pub quiz for older guests.
Neil Palmer,
Stena Line's marketing executive, said: "We are delighted to have raised £15,000 so far for Macmillan and the Fun Day Cruise in September will give our passengers the chance to be involved in helping us raise money for a very valuable cause."
Emma Rea of Macmillan Cancer Support added: "The support
Stena Line has given Macmillan over the years is very much appreciated and in the current economic climate we recognise people have to dig very deep for charity.
"That's why we hope the Fun Cruise will be the perfect Saturday's entertainment for parents and children alike."
Stena Line provides ferries to Belfast from Stranraer and also operates a Holyhead to Dublin ferry route.
For the European travel market, the company offers ferries to Hook of Holland from Harwich.
