Stena Line encourages travellers to book ferries to Ireland | | | | 01 July 2009 | Stena Line is reportedly taking part in a promotional initiative to encourage British travellers to catch ferries to Ireland for their summer holiday this year.
The ferry operator has teamed up with Tourism Ireland for the project, which will invite the public to discover the country's lesser-known holiday hotspots, Travel Daily News reports.
A major new advertising campaign is set to be launched, informing travellers of how cheap and easy it is to catch ferries to Ireland with Stena Line and highlighting the destination's unique attributes.
Nigel Tilson, the ferry company's UK communications manager, said: "Together with Tourism Ireland we are highlighting compelling reasons to travel to Ireland.
"We can provide the perfect solution for couples and families wanting to get away for less. For British holidaymakers, Ireland is close to home yet offers something completely different."
The campaign will focus on some of the unusual activities on offer to holidaymakers in Ireland, such as an island-hopping tour of the west coast that provides the chance to see dolphins, seals and basking sharks.
Stena Line operates a Holyhead to Dublin ferry service and also provides ferries to Rosslare from Fishguard. People travelling from Scotland can catch ferries to Belfast from Stranraer.
