Stena Line is in the running to win two accolades at the European leg of the 2010 World Travel Awards.
It is the only company to be shortlisted in the categories covering both short-sea and long-sea ferry operators.
In the short-sea section, Stena Line is competing with
Irish Ferries,
Norfolkline,
P&O Ferries and
SeaFrance for the top prize.
The company was shortlisted with
Acciona Trasmediterranea,
Brittany Ferries,
Color Line,
DFDS Seaways,
Minoan Lines and
TallinkSilja Line for the leading long-sea operator award.
Speaking after the nominations were announced, World Travel Awards founder and president Graham Cooke said: "Europe in particular is always highly contested.
"After a rigorous selection procedure, successful nominees must now continue to demonstrate what exactly it is that sets them apart from the rest."
Nominees in the category covering Europe's leading destinations include Amsterdam, Dublin and Paris, all of which are easily accessible to people travelling by ferry.
The award winners will be announced on October 1st.
