One of the advantages of travelling by ferry is that families are able to take a few comforts with them on their holiday.
For some people taking cheap ferries to Holland, this may also include the family pet.
Following a 13 per cent year-on-year increase in the number of pets travelling on its ferries,
Stena Line has released a new video guide on how to safely take pets on holiday.
Lars Olsson,
Stena Line's North Sea commercial manager, explained that the ferry operator recognised the need for a guide which details the official governmental and logistical requirements of transporting a dog or cat.
"We're confident that the video format of the new guide and its step-by-step depiction of the procedure will help pet owners who were unsure of the process or even unaware of the possibility of taking pets to The Netherlands," he said.
Approximately 15 million passengers travelled aboard one of
Stena Line's ferries in 2008, while three million cars and 1.8 million freight units were transported in the same period.
