Stena Line will soon have more passenger capacity on its Stranraer to Belfast ferry route when a third ship is introduced to the service.
The Stena Navigator, which can carry up to 1,500 passengers and 280 cars, will begin operating between Scotland and Northern Ireland in early November, the Belfast Telegraph reports.
Travellers will be offered a choice of 14 daily crossings on the Stranraer to Belfast ferry link following the introduction of the vessel.
Paul Grant, manager of the route, said the extra capacity will allow
Stena Line to expand ahead of what it hopes will be "a more buoyant 2010".
He added: "While trading conditions remain challenging,
Stena Line is confident about the future and is putting the necessary investment in place to ensure that it can leverage a competitive advantage when the economic upturn arrives."
The company provides another travel link to Northern Ireland with its Fleetwood to Larne ferry service.
People planning holidays in Europe can take ferries to Hook of Holland from Harwich with
Stena Line.
