Stena Line has announced that it will launch the Stena Britannica, its second superferry after the Hollandica, in autumn this year.
People catching
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland will be able to sail on the new ship when it joins the Hollandica on the route in October.
Together, the vessels will represent the world's most modern ferry fleet, according to
Stena Line.
Both ships offer a range of onboard facilities, including 538 cabins fitted with luxury beds that are also found in the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, free wireless internet access, several dining establishments and satellite televisions in lounges and cabins.
Both the Stena Britannica and Hollandica were designed to have a low environmental impact, with an improved hull design, efficient engines and catalytic converters.
The vessels also have glass, cardboard and food waste recycling facilities onboard.
Travellers can choose from two daily departures on the Harwich to Hook of Holland route, with each crossing taking between six and seven hours.
Stena Line also offers Irish Sea sailings, with regular
ferries from Holyhead to Dublin and Stranraer to Belfast.
