Stena Line wins - best ferry company - for fifteenth year
Leading ferry company Stena Line has clinched the title of Ferry Company of the Year at the Northern Ireland Travel News Awards for a record fifteenth time.
Angela Rippon presented the award to Stena's Paul Grant at the prestigious event held at the newly-refurbished Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle.
Paul who is Head of Travel Market for Stena Line UK and Ireland was thrilled to be collecting the glittering Tyrone Crystal trophy; "I am absolutely delighted that Stena Line has won the Ferry Company of the Year title for the fifteenth time and all of us at Stena Line feel honoured that the hard work we undertake to provide the best possible service for our customers has been honoured once again," said Paul.
"To win this accolade is recognition that the high standards we set ourselves have impressed our customers and indeed the awards judges. We are particularly pleased to have won this title as it comes on the back of receiving the Best Ferry Company of 2006 award at the Irish Travel Trade Awards in Dublin and the Star Ferry Operator for an amazing ninth consecutive year at the Travel Bulletin Awards in London, reflecting our commitment to customer service across the Irish Sea route network," he added.
Stena Line is the market leader on the Irish Sea, offering the biggest fleet and the widest choice of routes from Ireland to Britain including the Belfast to Stranraer, Larne to Fleetwood, Dun Laoghaire and Dublin Port to Holyhead, and Rosslare to Fishguard routes. The company carries over three million passengers on its Irish Sea routes each year, more than its rival ferry operators combined.
