Stena Line has been signed up as a corporate partner of the Tourism Society, an organisation that represents all sectors of the travel industry, from hotels and attractions to destinations and operators.
The ferry operator joins Lloyds TSB and the Carrier Group on the list of the society's commercial partners.
Nigel Tilson,
Stena Line's UK communications manager, said the company is "delighted" with the development, which highlights its dedication to supporting growth in the industry.
"We are always keen to support tourism and to provide help and encouragement in improving standards of professionalism within the industry," he added. "We also like to encourage people to travel - by ferry, naturally."
Tourism Society chairman Alison Cryer described the ferry operator as a "prominent" passenger carrier and said the organisations would work together to maximise the arrangement's mutual benefits.
Stena Line offers a range of travel options in the Irish Sea region, including a Stranraer to Belfast ferry service and
ferries from Holyhead to Dublin and Dun Laoghaire.
Travellers heading to Europe can take
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland with the company.
