People planning ferry trips from Dover next week have been reassured that a planned strike will not have any affect on services.
The Dover Harbour Board said it will be "business as usual" if the industrial action goes ahead.
Prompted by a dispute over the potential loss of jobs at Dover next year, the strike could take place for 48 hours from 07:00 on the morning of November 18th.
In anticipation of the action, training was given to the port's management team and non-striking staff in mooring and security skills.
Dover Harbour Board chief executive Bob Goldfield said: "We are confident we can maintain a good service to our customers and safety and security will not be compromised.
"The management of the port will do all it can to keep the port running."
Dover is one of Britain's busiest ferry ports, hosting regular services from operators including P&O Ferries, SeaFrance and Norfolkline.
