Travellers setting off on Isle of Wight ferry breaks next month will have plenty of opportunities to get active during the island's Autumn Walking Weekend.
Running from October 23rd to 26th, the event allows visitors to see some of the most beautiful scenery that the Isle of Wight has to offer.
Keen walkers can catch ferries to Yarmouth from Lymington with
Wightlink or use
Hovertravel's Southsea to Ryde service to take part in the Autumn Walking Weekend.
The event will feature more than 60 themed and guided walks along trails covering a distance of 500 miles.
New routes this year will include a Charles Darwin walk in Sandown Bay, which will pass by the villa where the scientist began to write his groundbreaking book On the Origin of Species.
Poetry fans will be able to follow a trail that takes in some of the landscapes that inspired Alfred Lord Tennyson, whose bicentenary is being celebrated this year.
In addition to its Yarmouth ferry service,
Wightlink operates ferries to Fishbourne and Ryde on the Isle of Wight from Portsmouth.
