There will be no shortage of culture and entertainment on offer to people planning Amsterdam ferry breaks in August, with the annual Uitmarkt celebration set to return to the city.
This event, which serves as the beginning of the Dutch capital's annual cultural season, will run from August 27th to 29th.
More than 400 previews, performances and live shows take place every year at various venues in the Museumplein, Leidseplein and Vondelpark areas of the city.
Travellers can join in with the fun and festivities by taking
ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam with
DFDS Seaways.
Highlights of this year's activities will include the Uitmarkt Junior event in Vondelpark on August 28th and 29th, which will feature live music and entertainment, as well as workshops at cultural venues such as the Van Gogh Museum.
Music fans should pay a visit to the UPC stage on August 28th to see performances by Jenny Lane, Tania Kross and others, while the Melkweg will provide the venue for a battle-of-the-bands event on the same day.
Travellers heading to The Netherlands can also take
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland with
Stena Line, while
P&O operates
ferries from Hull to Rotterdam.
