People with twin passions for food and music can hop on a ferry to Northern Ireland this summer to attend a fun and popular event.
Belfast Taste and Music Fest 2011 will take place in the city's Botanic Gardens from August 4th to 7th.
Travellers can sail with operators such as
Stena Line and
P&O Ferries to join in with the fun, which will include presentations of an array of gastronomic treats from some of Northern Ireland's leading chefs.
On the music front, live entertainment will be provided by groups including Flash Harry, Otis and the Elevators, and Niamh Kavanagh and the Illegals.
Among the new additions to the festival is family fun day on August 7th, which will feature all sorts of competitions and activities for youngsters and their parents to enjoy.
The first 50 children through the gates will be rewarded with a goodie bag.
One of the easiest ways for travellers based in Scotland to reach Northern Ireland is by taking
ferries from Stranraer to Belfast with Stena Line, which also sails to the city from Liverpool in association with
Norfolkline/
DFDS Seaways.
P&O provides
ferries from Troon to Larne, while the
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company offers a service from Douglas to Belfast.
