People who enjoy joining in with fun local events on their travels might be interested in taking a ferry to Ireland this month to check out the Decades Festival.
This event, which is described as "Ireland's largest fancy dress party", will take place on August 13th and 14th.
More than 60 pubs, clubs and other venues around Cork and its suburbs will take part in the festival, hosting parties themed around different decades from the 1920s to the 90s.
People who like nothing more than getting dressed up and having a good party can take
ferries from Swansea to Cork with
Fastnet Line and join in with the fun.
Festival-goers can don costumes to represent some of the most significant and distinctive periods and cultural movements of the 20th century, from the free love and social upheaval of the 1960s to the grunge and rave scenes of the 90s.
Venues taking part in the event this year include the Savoy Theatre, Top of the Hill Bar, the Joshua Tree and John O'Sullivan's.
Travellers can also reach southern Ireland by taking
ferries from Fishguard to Rosslare with
Stena Line, while
Irish Ferries serves the Pembroke to Rosslare ferry route.
