Scots who were thinking of travelling from Aberdeen to Dublin by air may now want to consider a Dublin ferry now that Ryanair is no longer running a service between the two cities.
The last flight will depart Aberdeen at 14:00 on October 28th and any passengers with bookings after that date will receive automatic refunds.
Ryanair's Stephen McNamara said: "Ryanair regrets the forced closure of its one remaining Aberdeen (Dublin) route, after the BAA refused an extension to our low cost deal from 29th October and failed to match the competitive cost deals which are available to Ryanair from other UK and European airports."
While this may cause some dismay for business travellers those looking to travel to Dublin could perhaps consider ferries to Ireland as a more leisurely alternative.
Direct ferries from Liverpool to Belfast are available as well as a route from Stranraer for those who are willing to consider other ways of travelling to Ireland.
